Bellbird Ridge Cottage has a queen size bed with feather
duvet and electric blanket. The bedroom also overlooks the garden and pond
and you can lie in bed and listen to the morning chorus of our wonderful
native birds which include Bellbirds & Tui’s and enjoy the serenity of
country life. |
|
We also offer Bed and Breakfast in a separate wing of the
homestead where you would be our only guests. We have double and twin rooms available with your own bathroom. The generous double room has
a super king bed, couch and your own entrance off the
front deck. |
 |
 |
Our house is newly renovated and is nestled into the
mature garden of Rhododendrons, Camellias, Azaleas and Conifers. |
|
Our large pond is home to many native green frogs and
they can be seen basking on the waterlilies during summer. During spring the
bog garden is colourful with iris and primulas and during the summer months
the lobelia and native grasses provide a colourful and cool backdrop to the
summer heat. |
 |
 |
We have a large garden with mature trees, which include
Conifers, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camellias, Ericas and New Zealand natives.
Springtime is very colourful with daffodils, bluebells and blossom in the
garden and during summer the perennials are at their best.

 | Directions |
|
Travelling north
from Taupo you will cross the control gates bridge and go up a hill. Keep to
the left and turn into Poihipi Road at the top of the hill. Travel along
Poihipi Road for 10 kms and turn right into Tuhingamata Road (the second
road on your right). Travel down Tuhingamata Road until you see Tangye Road
going off to your left. You will also see the blue Farmstay and bed sign.
When you’re driving up Tangye Road you will go through a gateway at the end
of the Poplar trees and then you will see ahead our drive going off to the
right and signposted Bellbird Ridge. Drive up through the garden and turn
right at the top to find our house. This is a guide to finding us
when you are traveling south on State Highway One. If you follow your map as
well you will see the town of Tokoroa. When you leave Tokoroa we are
approximately 40 minutes from there down State Highway 1 before you turn to
the right into Oruanui Road (green sign to Kinloch and white sign saying
Oruanui Road). Travel down Oruanui Road approximately 3 kms until you come
to Tuhingamata Road, which is the second on the right. Travel down
Tuhingamata Road until you see Tangye Road (also blue bed sign and Farmstay
sign). When you’re driving up Tangye Road you will go through a gateway at
the end of the Poplar trees and then you will see ahead our drive going off
to the right and signposted Bellbird Ridge. Drive up through the garden and
turn right at the top to find our house.
